On Wednesday, Feb. 11, Clubs and Organizations will be hosting Stony Brook University’s Involvement Fair. From 1-2:30 p.m., students will have the chance to check out various academic clubs, honor societies and performance groups.
This event will be great for mobile reporting, because it is a casual event that does not need big, bulky equipment. The involvement fair will be located in the Student Activities Center’s A and B Ballroom, as well as the lobby.

The involvement fair, which takes place at the beginning of every semester, is usually filled with students looking for new clubs to join and new people to meet. Since the ballrooms in the SAC are on the smaller side, it will be much easier to report using cell phones, rather than a DSLR and tripod.
Not only will I be able to take photos and videos with my phone during the event, but I will also be able to upload to any social media site, such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, all with one device. If I were to use a DSLR during this event, I would have to be constantly switching devices, which can take up a lot of time.
Lastly, with my mobile device, I will be able to give live updates during the fair, which is essential with event coverage.
