Involvement fairs give Stony Brook University students the chance to check out booths set up by different clubs and organizations on campus. Through this event these organizations make an effort to get new members and spread the word on what their club is about.
These fairs are being held every Wednesday during February, and this week’s installment will feature academic, honor societies and performance groups. These performance booths include a capella groups such as The Stony Brook Pipettes, Vocalists and High C’s.

As a mobile journalist, this event is important to cover because it is all about getting people involved. Journalists have the ability to influence and inform people. If this event is covered live, students would be able to immediately come to the event. The more people know about a certain event happening the more popular it could be.
This even would work in an online format because of the amount of people that will be there. It is so much more convenient to have a phone and small camera in a crowded room than have to take up both time and space with equipment. Instead of waiting to upload information about the event, it can be uploaded immediately while everything is still going on.
